Age Strong – Strength Training for Healthy Ageing

Get stronger, move better and stay active for longer.

Age Strong is our approach to helping adults maintain and improve their physical strength, mobility, balance and confidence as they get older.

As we age, we naturally experience changes in muscle mass, strength and physical capacity. Without regular exercise, these changes can affect our ability to perform everyday activities, maintain balance and remain independent.

The good news is that strength training can be beneficial at almost any age, even if you have never lifted weights before.

Our Age Strong personal training sessions are designed to help you:

  • Build and maintain muscle: Improve strength to support everyday activities such as climbing stairs, carrying shopping and getting up from a chair.

  • Improve balance and stability: Develop coordination and confidence with movements that can help reduce the risk of falls.

  • Support bone health: Use appropriate resistance and weight-bearing exercises to help maintain bone strength.

  • Improve joint function: Build muscular strength and movement capacity to support comfortable everyday activity.

  • Maintain independence: Stay physically capable and confident doing the things you enjoy.

  • Improve long-term wellbeing: Support cardiovascular health, physical fitness and quality of life.

Age Strong is suitable for adults of different ages and fitness levels, particularly those in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond who want to take a proactive approach to healthy ageing.

You don't need to be fit to get started. Every session is adapted to your current ability, with a focus on gradual progression, good technique and achievable goals.

It's never too late to start getting stronger.
